I understand some of them but i cant explain their meaning well, so i searched them on net. hiii...

1: hit the road : To set out(as on a trip), leave.

2: hit the spot : To give total or desired satisfaction (as food or drink )

3: hit the nail on the head :
If you hit the nail on the head, you say something or describe something that is exactly right. Also, if you hit the nail on the head, it could be that you've guessed the exact answer or provided the perfect solution to a problem.

4: Get our act together : to be organised, to do what u r requaired..

5: Cut to the chase : means that you should approach things with clarity and focus. Know what’s important, what’s not, and spend your time accordingly.

Dear Bekhongthich :-),

Bekhongthich! No, you are NOT wrong! And neither am I dear!

"Get one's act together" = to organize your activities so that you do things in an effective way.

How can you be wrong when your answer is coming straight out of an English - English dictionary? However, it would be like comparing apples to oranges if you compared your answer to my answer because your answer is in English and my is the translation from English into Vietnamese. The English definition is "To get organized" and mine Vietnamese translation is "cải tổ". That is the only different between your answer and mine. Two different languages that have the same meaning. Can you see?

Bekhongthich! If you take a closer look at my examples you will see that your answer and mine are both correct (the only difference is, again, that yours is in English and mine is in Vietnamese). Translating English into Vietnamese is rather difficult, and one may have a different way of saying things than the other. Therefore, it does not matter how one chooses his words so long as his Vietnamese translation conveys the meaning of the English word(s) he likes to translate, he is doing a good job of translating already, dear.

Please remember that an English word may have too may different meanings and ways to say in Vietnamese. You may translate "To find" into Vietnamese as "Tìm được" while I would translate it into Vietnamese as "Lượm được". However, "Tìm" and "Lượm" are totally different when you put them in context. Is that, perhaps, why you see that my answer is different than yours? :)

Example:

** I found 100 USD on the street.
---- Tôi lượm được 100 đô ngoài đường.
(Tôi tìm được 100 đô ngoài đường. ====> nghe kỳ quá phải hôn?)

** I tried to find my keys.
---- Tôi cố gắng tìm chìa khóa của tôi.
(Tôi cố gắng lượm chìa khoá của tôi ===> nghe sai bét phải hôn?)

Well! I hope this helps!
