You don't mind if I rewrite your story a bit, do you?
It’s not better than how you wrote it. It is just different phrasing/structure...
When I woke up this morning, it occurred to me that today was the first day of the new school semester. I felt very excited since I was going to see my old friends again. I quickly jumped in my car and left for school. On my way to school, I noticed a lady standing on the corner of the street. When I drove past her, she was waving her hands at me. It appeared as though she wanted me to stop, but I was already running late. I finally arrived at the school fifteen minutes later. To my surprise, the campus was quiet. There were not any cars or students in the parking lot. It took me a while before I realized that the semester had not yet started, and that I had mixed up the days! I laughed at myself, turned my car around, and drove home. I thought I would pass this story on for everyone to laugh with me… I was really absent minded, wasn’t I?

Today was really much better than yesterday. I had a good day at school and a happy dinner with my family. It seems the first time, we including my parents and my brother's family went out for the dinner together at a Vietnamese restaurant.

I don't really understand clearly what you have told me, ChickenLittle. Is there some wrong things when I want to tell the true.
If you want to make jokes to have, we can do that easily. And you should remember that this is my diary, and I dont want to tell the lie.

Do you like feeding a baby duck?
Yesterday, I still had a baby duck.
Chip...chip...its sound was like a baby chicken's sound and I thought it was missing its mom very much; even it had never seen its mom since it hatched three days ago.
Hic hic, maybe, I was its godmother; I fed it by mixing bread with the rice flour in pure water. I also bought for it a nice cage. It was very cute while it was eating the food I made. It used its own little beak to pick up the food adroitly. And it was put on a gorgeous yellow jacket through its body. But it was very weak, and could not run because of an inborn wound on one its leg. I didn’t know how long it could stand on an unwilling life with a reluctant circumstance that it had to accept. I felt sorry for it and hoped that it could be healthier as soon as possible. I promised that I will let it free in its native environment; so that it can develop its native heredities are transmitted from its ancestor.
But, It is really sad I cannot do any thing what I have promised with the duck. It died this afternoon. I wish that it could have a better life in somewhere in the world.
*** Life is really too short, however, to have a better life we have to face to face with a lot of challenges and constantly endeavor all the time ***.

Oh sorry to hear about that. 3 days ago ,u said to me that u were feeding a baby duck . You felt happy and glad when you saw it, and then you decided bring it to my house . U did with all your effort but it could seems not overcome by itself because it was too weak and it died
And u cried and sad very much , I wish I could be your show, when you were sad I would chere you up
it went back its ancestor that was the best way. “ cat bui tro ve cat bui”
