THE WINTER IN DALAT
When you see a bright yellow of wild sunflowers – a transparent yellow, like honey – spreading all things, everywhere, on the hills and valleys …, it means the winter of Dalat is coming back again.
Whenever the winter returns wild sunflowers are blooming everywhere. They are very strange – a kind of flower giving the signal of winter. They blooms brightly along two roadsides, on the fences, under pine trees whistling in the wind, next the lakes … You can see wild sunflowers everywhere.
It is very easy to realize the winter in Dalat . In the morning, the fog covers all over the lake. The fog is white like milk. It is teemful, indistinct and unreal. The city is sunk in the fog.The sun rises too high but the city seems not awake. Wild flower bushes, climbing roses, spicas are quivering their leaves. Dew stagnates on leaves like shine and sparkling precious stones.
Wild sunflowers come and go in many seasons. Flimsy and quick fate flowers race against each other to bloom. Maybe they know they have not aroma, so they try to show their bright yellow with heaven and earth, with living beings. They move from side to side with cold and wandering winds all day. They make up cold mountainous region. They also become flower-crown on girls’ heads and rotate at full speed in the wheels of boys.
Golden sunlight races over up and down hills and brings sorrowful cold. Sunlight makes everything warmer, full of vitality although they are cold themselves.
And anytime you see a bright yellow of wild sunflowers, a transparent golden sunlight like honey spreading all things everywhere, on the hills and valleys …, it means the winter of Dalat is returning.

Cứ mỗi khi thấy khắp nơi, trên đồi, dưới thung lũng một màu vàng rực của dã quỳ, và một màu nắng trong suốt, vàng như mật rải đều khắp mọi vật, thì đó, mùa đông Đà Lạt đã về.
Mỗi khi mùa đông về, dã quỳ lại nở khắp nơi. Loài hoa thật lạ, hoa báo đông. Chúng nở vàng rực hai bên đường, trên hàng rào, dưới những ngọn thông vi vu cùng gió, bên mặt hồ ... Chỗ nào cũng thấy dã quỳ vàng.
Mùa đông về ở Đà Lạt dễ nhận biết lắm. Buổi sáng, sương mù bao phủ khắp mặt hồ. Sương trắng đục như sữa, bàng bạc, lãng đãng, hư ảo. Thành phố chìm ngập trong sương. Mặt trời lên cao mà dường như thành phố chưa thức giấc. Những bụi hoa dại, tường vi, tóc tiên rung rinh lá. Sương đọng trên lá như hạt ngọc, lóng lánh, lung linh ...
Đã bao nhiêu mùa dã quỳ vàng đến rồi đi. Những đoá hoa mỏng manh, mau tàn ấy đua nhau nở. Hình như chúng biết thân phận mình không hương nên chúng cứ đua nhau khoe cái màu vàng rực rỡ với trời đất, với vạn vật. Suốt ngày chúng ngả nghiêng với những cơn gió lạnh lẽo, miên man. Chúng trang điểm cho vùng đất lạnh, chúng còn trở thành vòng hoa, vương miện trên đầu những cô gái và xoay tít trong bánh xe của những chàng trai.
Nắng vàng đuổi nhau qua các ngọn đồi nhấp nhô. Mang theo cái lạnh tê tái. Nắng vàng làm mọi vật như ấm hơn, như có sức sống hơn dù tự thân nó đã lạnh.

the win ter in the Dalat is hard to forget.The feeling when you in Dalat i cold, so cold... It's time for you to wear sweater,coat,...which i like so much.It's time for you to holding your darling's hand.it's the time for you to drink a hot coffecup.It's the time for you to see whole of dalat with fog...That's all things make me love so much-the winter in Dalat.
I'm live in Dalat.And i love Dalat so much.i can have a lots mistakes...but i want to share with you my feeling. ilookforward your replies.Thank!

Hi Owlet,
Are you living in Da Lat? It's great. I've visited your city many times. But my feelings of it are always different after coming and leaving. A city of flowers, fog and green pine trees, especially of romance. People of Da Lat are friendly with a very light voice. I really love your city although I'm not a citizen of Da Lat.
You have right to be proud of your city because Da Lat is worth to live peacefully during your life.
