CLB Tiếng Anh GALEC 2: Report for Workshop "BOOKS" 22/11/2012
Report for Workshop: “BOOKS”
Time: 6h30-8h30 pm, Thursday 22/11/2012
Place: Smartlink English Center, No 3, Lane 196 Thai Thinh
(Note: Leave your vehicle at Viettin Bank 196 Thai Thinh)
At 6.30 pm, everyone gathered in a circle and we get started!!! That was a surprise when we had a lot of new comers today so the first part “Introduction” was really exciting.

Moving to the second part, we heated the atmosphere by playing a game named “secret books”. All volunteers get through under intelligent directions from the audience except one girl. The book named “World is flat” was quite hard for everyone to give guidelines. Finally, the MC told her the name of the book in Vietnamese and asked her to translate it into the English name.

After that, we divided all members into 4 groups for the third part “Free talk”. They were apparently excited to share their favourite books as well as a great number of things they had learned from each book.

The first presenter was a beautiful girl talking about a current issue that was the copyright for Internet books. People paid a lot of attention to her and gave many hard questions. One of those was “ How to read entirely a book without falling to sleep?” which led to a heated discuss. Members shared with us some effective ways to keep focus when reading a book, especially a thick one. Mr.Tri – one key member of our club suggested we should read in “toilet” when there was nothing to distract us. That was weird, right?

The second one was still a pretty girl who talked about two most favourite books of “UNDER TEN books she has read so far”.

And the last one was a man sharing some interesting books for ones who like traveling.
At the last part of the workshop, each group role-played a very awkward situation. The first group had some ideas of giving a playful boy who was out-of-date food that would make him go to the toilet and have no choice but reading books. Obviously, Mr.Tri was in this group.

The two next group had a lot of talented methods in order to avoid explaining some strange words related to sex to children when they insistently asked.

This little girl was learning about “What is making love?”.
We ended this workshop with laughs and funs.
Once again, thank you for coming. Hope to see you next Thursday.
