Report for Workshop: “Vietnamese teacher’s day”
Time: 6h30-8h30, Thursday 15/11/2012
Place: Smartlink English Center, No 3, Lane 196 Thai Thinh

At 6:30, to heat the atmosphere and let everyone know each other, we began with the game called “Body language game”.
This group kept silence but they used their telephones to exchange information so they had finished sooner than others. There were some cheatings here, right??

After that, we moved to the second part “Free talk”. It appeared that everyone had lots of memories at school as well as at university so they all discussed quite “loudly” and the atmosphere became very hot.
Moving to the “Presentation and Q&A”, every one sat in a circle again. Each group had one representative talking about the question they felt interested most.
This boy was the first presenter who told us 2 reasons why he hated teachers and that was kind of surprising for us. But after being asked, he shared frankly an unforgettable memory that was a story about some “special feelings” with his female teacher.
This pretty girl in group 2 talked about the fact that the quality of educating in VN has reduced day-by-day.
With lots of arguments, this man explained the reasons why a teacher has had to take a bribe.
It seemed that there are too much bad thoughts of Vietnamese teachers.
Fortunately, the next boy shared with us some memorable moments in his school and some effective ways to improve the teaching methods in VN educating system.
At the last part, we divided members in 2 big groups and they were supposed to make a fun but effective lessons in any subject. One group created an English lesson which was a game finding the common things between 2 random words you took. Believe it or not, Mr.Tri – a key member of our group gave 5 common things between “sun” and “gun”.
Personally, I find this workshop was memorable and meaningful by funny stories and interesting opinions about the Vietnamese teacher’s day.
