Dear Tomato009300,
This is basic English grammar. You should be able to buy an English Grammar Book, and learn how to pronounce all the English words that have the final sound "S". Please remember that this rule's applied to all the English words that have the final sound "S" or "ES", and NOT just all the English verbs.
Anyhow, here under I'll show you the basic rule of the pronunciation of all the English words that have the final sound "S" or "ES". However, you yourself should buy an English Grammar Book and study more eh!
1/. Voiceless sounds take /s/
-These sounds are voiceless:
/f/ /h/ /k/ /p/ /t/
Examples:
a) Laughs /laefs/
b) Highs /highs/
c) Backs /baeks/
d) Sleeps /sleeps/
e) Hats /haets/
2/. Voiced sounds take/z/
- These sounds are voiced:
/b/ /d/ /g/ /j/ /l/ /m//n/ /ng/ /r/ /v/ /w/ AND all vowel sounds.
Examples:
a) Robs /robz/
b) Lids /lidz/
c) Bags /baegz
d) Dogs /dogz/
e) Homes /howmz/
f) Sees /seez/
3/. These sounds take /iz/
- These are the sounds that take/iz/:
/s/ /ks/ /z/ /x/ /-ge -dge/ /sh/ /ch/
Examples:
a) Kisses /kis-siz/
b) Boxes /bok-siz/
c) Prizes /praiz-iz/
d) Mixes /mik-siz/
e) Packages /pakej-iz/ & Edges /ej-iz/
f) Dishes /dish-iz/
g) Catches /cach-iz/
......Etc..................
