There is a foreigner who got married with a Vietnamese lady speaks Vietnamse so well. One day, wife took him to the West Lake and she told him that the lake (hồ=lake-"cái" is an article like a, an, the, this, that in English)is so beautiful. People in Hanoi capital is very proud of its beauty. Then, they took a walk to Hồng river. Husband said that Hồng river(sông=river, of course, he spoke Vietnamese in this case)was a great one but it's quite muddy. Wife corrected husband "You should call it by "con sông". Husband asked his wife "Both lake and river relate to water, why did you use article "cái" for a lake and then "con" for a river?". Wife explained her husband's question confusedly "the thing which can not move to the other places is called "cái" and the thing which can move to the other place is called "con". On the way they got back to their home, husband understood his wife's explanation suddenly. He slaped his lag and said "Yours is called "Cái", Mine is called "Con""

A foreigner, getting married with a Vietnamese lady, living in VN, knew Vietnamese language very well. One day, his wife took him to the “Ho Tay”, introduced to him. This was “cai” “Ho Tay”, so beautiful, capital people were proud of. After that, they headed to Hong river to enjoy fresh air. When they arrived the river, a husband suggested that “cai” “song" was so wide, but the water was not so clear. His wife corrected him that you had to call it “con” “song”. Why? A husband asked his wife that why both were the same water, but he could not call “cai” “song”? In embarrassment, his wife explained that “cai” was indicated something not moving. Otherwise, something moving that we called “con”. On the way going home, suddenly, a husband hit his lap and suggested “Oh yeah, “cai” is yours, and “con” is mine
